Abstract
ABSTRACT
The modern church faces various complex issues that directly impact the lives of congregations and the effectives of pastoral ministry. One crucial factor that is often overlooked is the state of self-esteem of God's servant as chrurch leaders. This study aims to comprehensively describe the concept of self-esteem, identify the causes and negative impact of low self-esteem, and formulate steps to foster the pillars of healthy self-esteem in God's servants. The method used is a literature study with a qualitative approach, through the collection, analysis, and synthesis of library sources in the form of books and journal articles relevant to the theme of self-esteem and pastoral leadership. The results of the study indicate that self-esteem is a basic human need that significant influences the intellectual, emotional, relational, and spiritual aspect of God's servant. Low self-esteem is generally formed through negative experiences in the family, especially poor parenting, and results in decreased intellectual intelligence, fear of appearing in public, difficulty in relationship, and a tendency toward unstable emotions.
